What the 5-Day Birthday Preschool Lesson Plans Look Like

Day 1: Celebrating Me – Personal Identity & Early Math

The week begins with a focus on children’s own special day. During circle time, students talk about when they were born and how their family celebrates, building self-awareness and listening skills. Children participate in a memory game, create themed art projects, and explore dramatic play through dress-up relay activities. Math and science concepts are introduced through counting and sequencing tasks, while music and movement keep learning active. A cooking-with-kids activity wraps up the day as children decorate cupcakes, connecting celebration with cooperation and joy.

Day 2: Letter R – Literacy, Science & Creative Play

Day two centers on reinforcing Letter R through multisensory literacy experiences. Children explore letter sounds and vocabulary using letter boxes, word cards, and picture activities. Creative arts are integrated as students make rainbow-themed crafts and puppets, while simple science demonstrations help children explore how rainbows form. Math concepts are reinforced through patterning and hands-on exploration. Music and movement activities bring color and sound together, making letter review purposeful and memorable.

Day 3: Presidents’ Day – History & Counting Skills

On day three, children learn about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and why we remember them in February. Teachers introduce these leaders through child-friendly discussions and stories, helping students understand leadership and national symbols at an age-appropriate level. Math skills are developed through penny and nickel counting games, while art activities include creating cherry trees and simple crafts tied to each president. Movement and game-based learning keep children engaged, and a themed cooking activity reinforces sequencing and cooperation.

Day 4: Color Pink – Sorting, Art & Sensory Exploration

Color Pink Day focuses on color recognition, classification, and creativity. Children sort crayons, weave pink paper projects, and experiment with color mixing using red and white paint. Math and science concepts are explored through simple experiments like sinking and floating, while music and movement activities include scarf dancing and rhythm play. A sensory-based cooking activity reinforces the color theme and gives children another opportunity to connect learning with real-world experiences.

The week Birthday Preschool Lesson Plans concludes with a classroom celebration that honors every child.
