Fire Safety PreK Lesson and Activities for Preschool Kindergarten

This weekly lesson and activities is our 2nd lesson plan that teaches about fire safety and prevention. It will keep your students engaged with fun and educational activities all week.  With our easy-to-follow lesson plans, Red Hot Fire Safety week will keep their minds active and challenge your students in a variety of ways. Plus, our simple lesson plans will make planning out your week a breeze.

Our Friend the Firefighter theme we will learn about firefighters, our October community helper. We will also learn how to dial 9-1-1 when we need help. We will make Freddie the Fire Dog during craft time and learn a 9-1-1 song. For a snack, we will make graham cracker fire trucks.

The letter of the week is Letter F. For the letter F, we will be learning about fire and flames. We will do a fire painting picture with paints and safely explore a flame of a candle. We will learn a fireman poem and will make fire cupcakes for snacks.

Stop, Drop and Roll will be a safety day where we learn how to put fire out on our clothing. We will learn how to sign the word “fire” in sign language and make a stop, drop, and roll book. We will discuss the flame in the candle on our birthday cupcake. We will also learn a stop, drop, and roll song and will make crescent roll-ups for lunch.

Triangle Day, we will study the triangle and it’s three sides. We will make triangle light catchers. We will also make a rubber band triangle and play a triangle trot game. For lunch, we will make triangle shapes sandwiches.

Fire Safety Review Day, we will review all the fire safety rules we learned this week. We will place stickers around to show what are safe things to touch and what are not. We will make 9-1-1 posters and experiment with how smoke rises. We will learn a fire safety review song.
